Popular filmmaker and actress, Funke Akindele, has dismissed claims that she snubbed Fuji star, Wasiu Pasuma, at a recent public event, describing the viral narrative as misleading.
The controversy followed a video shared on 𝕏 by a user, which was captioned, “Moment Funke Akindele snubbed Pasuma in public. This is not looking good at all.”
The clip, which circulated widely, appeared to show Akindele ignoring the singer during a crowded indoor event.
Reacting on Sunday, Akindele refuted the claim, insisting there was no incident of disrespect between her and the Fuji star.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil,” she wrote.
While the viral clip showed only a brief moment where Pasuma appeared seated and looking at his phone, a longer version of the footage painted a different picture.
In the extended video, Akindele was seen warmly greeting Pasuma, smiling and engaging with him before moving on to other guests.
The gathering was held in honour of actress Fathia Balogun, with several celebrities in attendance, including TikTok personality Ashabi Olose.
Multiple recordings from the event showed Akindele interacting freely with guests.
Supporters of the actress shared the full footage online, arguing that the viral clip had been selectively edited to create a false impression.
The clarification comes weeks after another viral moment involving Akindele and actress Toyin Abraham at a movie premiere, which also sparked online debate.
