The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has said it will not grant automatic tickets to any aspirant ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that internal consensus-building and competitive primaries will determine candidates.
The State APC Chairman, Kana Zuru, made the statement on Saturday at a state unity rally organised by the party at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, which drew supporters from across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Zuru said the party remains committed to internal democracy and will ensure a level playing field for all contestants, stressing that candidacy will be determined through party procedures.
He noted that party unity and cohesion remain central to its strength ahead of the next election cycle.
Speaking at the event, the APC Women Leader in the state, Aishatu Abubakar Gunabi, said the party remains united and strong, adding that it will continue to show solidarity with both the state governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while urging political office holders to meet public expectations.
Also speaking, the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Mohammed Argungu, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in Kebbi, citing strong grassroots mobilisation and increasing political engagement across the state.
The rally formed part of early political alignment within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, as stakeholders intensify efforts to consolidate support and manage internal competition.
