Winner of the Big Brother Naija ‘LockDown’ season cum rapper, Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, popularly known as Laycon, has opened up about his loss after gaining fame through the reality TV show.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the BBNaija star, while speaking in a recent video broadcast titled ‘Life With Laycon,’ spoke about his journey to self-discovery and the importance of inner peace.

The ‘Fierce’ crooner revealed that he lost his inner voice after winning the reality show in 2020 and only found it again a year later.

According to Laycon, silence was the consistent factor in his journey of self-discovery, noting that many people are not growing because they are afraid to embrace it.

He pointed out that silence may be uncomfortable, but it is vital for personal growth.

The reality TV star emphasised that silence is a mirror that reflects one’s life in their thoughts and allows them to make necessary amendments.

The rapper further urged his fans to embrace solitude and self-reflection as a form of personal accountability.

He said, “Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left was your own thoughts?” He asked.

“I have been there and I want to share a part of that experience with you. After I won Big Brother Naija in 2020, I lost my inner voice and the first time I heard that voice again was December 2021 after my sold-out concert, The Icons Fest,” the rapper said.

“The voice kept asking me questions like, ‘Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this?

“Are you happy? Questions that made me want to sit alone with my thoughts. So, that’s what I did. From that conversation came a lot of necessary but uncomfortable truths and realisation about myself.”
