Jessie Woo Says She “Self-Deported” To Canada After ICE Threats From Trolls

Internet personality Jessie Woo says she has “self-deported” to Canada after facing a wave of online harassment that included threats from people claiming they would report her to immigration authorities.

Jessie shared the update directly with fans on social media, explaining that she was heading back to Canada and sarcastically referring to the move as “self deporting.” She ended the post with a blunt message directed at immigration authorities: “F*** ICE.”

WHAT SPARKED THE DRAMA

According to Jessie, trolls flooded her Instagram comments and inbox with threats saying they planned to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about her.

It is not actually clear what Jessie Woo’s immigration status in the United States was.

For all anyone knows, she could very well be a U.S. citizen. Or she may simply have chosen to relocate back to Canada, where she was born. Either way, the tone of her posts suggests she was frustrated with the online harassment.

In today’s heated political environment around immigration, even rumors about someone’s status can quickly turn into targeted trolling.

Some supporters applauded Jessie for removing herself from what they viewed as a toxic online environment. Others questioned whether the “self deportation” comment was meant as a serious statement or simply a sarcastic jab at the people threatening her.

Either way, the episode highlights how quickly social media disputes can escalate into real world consequences.

ONE THING IS CLEAR

Jessie Woo has never been shy about speaking her mind online.

And if her latest post is any indication, she is not about to start now.
