Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi has reasserted his long-held view that he won the 2023 presidential election.
He made the latest claim on Saturday while appearing as a guest on the Naija Unfiltered podcast.
Obi, who is now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), argued that the outcome declared by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), did not reflect the actual result as he perceived it.

Obi maintained that his campaign was victorious despite the official declaration.
“I can show you today, as far as I’m concerned, I have run for the office of the President of Nigeria and won. But the system decided otherwise and they know it,” he said.
While repeating the assertion for emphasis, the former Anambra State governor stated: “And we won. I can show you today as far as I’m concerned. I have run for the office of the President of Nigeria and won. But the system decided otherwise and they know it.”
Obi contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party, coming third with over six million votes in the result announced and published by INEC.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) came second and fourth respectively, according to the electoral body.
