The US military carried out another round of airstrikes on Iran on Wednesday, saying the operation was aimed at keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for international shipping. According to the US military, around 90 Iranian military targets were hit, including air defence systems, missile and drone storage facilities, and other military assets.
In a statement posted on X, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes were intended to weaken Iran’s ability to attack commercial ships and civilian mariners passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
