In a statement signed by the Executive Director Okechukwu Nwanguma issued Friday, the human rights group expressed profound relief and congratulated the victims, their families and the entire community on their release. RULAAC also acknowledged the efforts of all those who worked, in various capacities, to secure the safe return of the victims.
While celebrating the outcome, the group noted that the incident should serve as a reminder of the continuing threat that kidnapping poses to the safety of children, schools and communities across Nigeria. It stressed that no family should have to endure the trauma of such an ordeal, and no child should be denied education because of fear and insecurity.
RULAAC called on the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to strengthen preventive security measures, improve intelligence-led policing, and protect schools and other vulnerable institutions from similar attacks.
The group further urged that those responsible for the abduction and similar crimes be identified, arrested, prosecuted and held accountable, stressing that lasting security requires proactive action rather than reliance on successful rescue operations alone.
The organisation welcomed the released teachers and children home, wishing them healing, comfort and a full recovery from the trauma they experienced, and reiterated its commitment to a Nigeria where schools and communities remain safe from such threats.
