Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has hinted the killing of security operatives during the rescue operation for the 39 students and 7 teachers kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of the state,
NPO Reported that the kidnap victims were on Friday rescued after spending 56 days in captivity.
Recall that they were abducted during multiple attack on Ahoro Esinele Community High School, Yawota Baptist Nursery School, and L.A Nursery and Primary School.
In the wake of their release, Makinde took to his Facebook handle where he expressed his gratitude over the development.
While details of the rescue operation are yet to be disclosed, the Oyo governor hinted casualties from the security operatives who carried out the rescue operation.
He prayed for the repose of the deceased operatives’ souls.
“Really grateful for the safe return of the children and teachers abducted from Oriire LGA 56 days ago.
“We also commend the security agencies that took part in the rescue operations for their sacrifices.
“May the souls of those who paid the ultimate price rest in peace and may God comfort their families.” He wrote.
On the rescued victims, the governor disclosed plan to reunite them with their families and support their rehabiliation process.
“Our priority now is to ensure they are reunited with their families and support their rehabilitation after this traumatic experience.” He said.
