The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered probe into the crashlanding incident involving Enugu Air’s aircraft.
NPO Reported that scores of passengers narrowly escaped death on Thursday after an aircraft of the local airline crashlanded at Benin Airport.
The plane veered off the runway and plunged into a vegetaion before being forcefully stopped.
Videos of the scary incident shared on X showed officials of the airport evacuating passengers and crew members from the aircraft which suffered some damages.
Fourtnately, no casualty was reported in the air mishap as tge management of the airline confirmed that all the passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.
Reacting to the development in a post shared on his X handle on Friday, Keyamo diaclosed that he has been fully briefed about the incident.
The minister also confirmed that no casualty was recorded.
He thereafter directed all relevant agencies to investigate the circumstances that led to the mishap.
“I have been duly informed that the incident with Enugu Air yesterday in Benin is that the aircraft skidded off the runway after landing successfully (it is called ‘runway excursion’ in aviation terminology). Everyone was safe.
“I have directed all the relevant agencies to work closely with Enugu Air to unravel the cause.” Keyamo wrote.
