Iran has reportedly released an alleged “global hit list” after the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, naming several world leaders it blames for his killing. While many expected US President Donald Trump to be the top target, reports claim Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is listed first. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is also among the names mentioned.
The reported list was published by the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri, which featured photographs of several world leaders on its front page, apparently as a warning. The publication claimed that “revenge is certain” and accused these leaders of being responsible for Khamenei’s death.

Who is on Iran’s alleged global ‘hit list’?
According to the report, the list includes 11 prominent political leaders from across the world. Among them are:
- Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
- US President Donald Trump
- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer
- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
- US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
- French President Emmanuel Macron
- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz
The newspaper reportedly portrayed these leaders in prison-style clothing while accusing them of supporting actions that led to Khamenei’s death.
Why has Iran named these leaders?
The report claims Iran holds Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy responsible for the death of its former Supreme Leader. It also accuses several European countries of failing to condemn military attacks on Iranian territory during the conflict and of allowing US military aircraft to use their airspace.
These allegations have not been independently verified.
Rising tensions after Khamenei’s death

The publication of the alleged list has further increased tensions in the region. Reports suggest security agencies in several countries are closely monitoring the situation following the newspaper’s claims.
Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Supreme Leader, has not appeared in public since the conflict began. Some reports have claimed he was also injured in the attack that killed his father, although there has been no official confirmation.
