Former Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has claimed never owning a house all through his eight years tenure.

Aregbesola made the claim while addressing stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at Otito-Inu Cooperative Society programme on Wednesday.

Speaking in Yoruba in a video shared on X by media practitioner, Adabanija Kamorudeen, Aregbesola disclosed staying at a friend’s place all through his tenure.

He challenged anyone who may want to prove him worng to come with evidence.

“I’m the first Nigerian governor to serve for eight years without owning a house.

“I lived in my friend apartment in my father’s town at Ilesha for eight years.

“I challenge anyone who may not agree with me to come out open with evidence.” Aregbesola said.

Recall that Aregbesola served as Osun governor from 2010 to 2018.

His administration saw the introduction of several initiatives such Opon Imo.
