In a public notice shared on its official X account on Sunday, the ministry warned that messages, websites and application links promoting the alleged programme are fraudulent and should be ignored.
It advised members of the public to rely only on official government communication channels for information about social intervention programmes.
“The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has NOT commenced registration for any ₦50,000 National Support Allowance,” the ministry said.
It added, “Disregard fraudulent messages, links and websites claiming otherwise. Verify any info only through official govt channels.”
The clarification follows the circulation of a fake promotional flyer claiming that the allowance scheme had been launched on the directive of President Bola Tinubu.
The misleading advertisement, circulated in both English and Hausa, directs prospective applicants to a suspicious website, kluspz.com, to submit their applications.
The ministry’s warning comes amid growing concerns over online scams targeting Nigerians seeking government assistance and social welfare benefits.
Similar fraudulent campaigns have surfaced in the past, including those falsely linked to programmes such as N-Power, prompting repeated warnings from government agencies and renewed calls for the public to verify information before responding to online offers.
