The Ekiti State Football Association, under the leadership of its Chairman, Aare Oluwole Oloworemo, has officially declared its unwavering support for the re-election of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, ahead of the Federation’s elective congress scheduled for September 2026.
The endorsement was unanimously reached during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Association, where members commended the leadership style and achievements of the incumbent NFF President since assuming office.
Aare Oloworemo described Gusau as a visionary football administrator whose reforms have continued to reposition Nigerian football and align it with global best practices.
The remarkable progress recorded across various sectors of the game including domestic league administration, refereeing, coaching education, youth development and football governance demonstrates the NFF President’s commitment to the growth of football in the country.
Aare Oloworemo noted that under Gusau’s leadership, Nigerian football has witnessed significant improvements, with deliberate efforts geared towards strengthening competitions, enhancing capacity development for referees and coaches and creating a more sustainable football ecosystem.
“The progress made under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau’s administration is evident for everyone to see. His passion, commitment and vision for Nigerian football deserve continuity. We believe he has laid a solid foundation and should be given another term to consolidate on these achievements,” Oloworemo said.
The Ekiti FA Chairman further reaffirmed that the Association stands firmly behind Gusau’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that another four-year tenure would bring greater development and more positive transformations to Nigerian football.
The Association also called on football stakeholders across the country to support the continuity of the current administration, stressing that sustained leadership is essential for achieving long-term growth and maintaining the upward trajectory of football development in Nigeria.
