American rapper Cardi B has addressed growing speculation surrounding her relationship with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying she is subjected to a different level of public scrutiny than many other celebrities.
Her remarks come days after she was spotted having dinner with the Nigerian international in Venice, Italy, fueling widespread speculation about their relationship.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram Story, the Grammy Award-winning artiste said the level of attention she receives is comparable to what pop icon Britney Spears experienced at the peak of her career.
“No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears. I got all the tea on these celebrities… I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports on it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares.”
The 33-year-old added that even minor details about her life instantly become talking points online.

“But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she said.
Cardi B, however, said she has made peace with the downside of fame.
“You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk,” she noted.
The pair were photographed last week enjoying dinner with a group of friends at a restaurant in Venice, Italy.
Earlier, they were seen seated together at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week, further fueling speculation about their relationship.
However, neither Cardi B nor Okoye has publicly confirmed they are romantically involved, while their representatives have also remained silent on the speculation.
