Social media influencer and activist, Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is currently leading a protest in Ibadan over the abduction of teachers and students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
This was seen in a viral video circulating on X, which showed VDM leading protesters to the residence of the Oyo State Governor in Ikolaba.
In the video, a large number of residents were seen marching alongside the activist as he directed the protest.
During the demonstration, VDM addressed the protesters, stressing that their mission was not to confront the police.
“We’re ready to follow them inside the bush, we’re not here to fight police, because if we’re here to fight police, we’ll definitely beat the police.
“But we’re not here to f!ght them. We’re here to tell them that we’re ready to follow them into the bush when they’re ready,” he said.
Other videos posted on X showed Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, stepping out of the Government House to address the protesters.
In another clip, VDM warned that anyone attempting to disrupt the protest would be dealt with by the demonstrators.
“Anybody wey dem send to come and scatter this protest, I swear to God we go beat you dai.
“The reason why we’re here today is because if we’re not, what happened to those children will happen to another person.
“These bandits want to take over our country and we won’t allow them,” he said.
