First Lady inaugurates 10 intra-city road projects in Benue

‎THE First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday officially inaugurated 10 intra-city road projects in Makurdi, Benue.

‎The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the projects, spanning approximately 11.5 kilometres, are part of the broader Phase I Urban Renewal Programme being implemented by the Gov. Hyacinth Alia administration in the state.

‎The first lady described the projects as a clear demonstration of the practical implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu through investments that directly impact the lives and livelihoods of citizens.

‎She expressed gladness for the improvements and level of developments in the state, including the roads being inaugurated.

The completion of the infrastructure, according to Mrs Tinubu, forms part of the progress and commitment of the current administration.

‎while commending the governor for his visionary leadership, and commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Benue, she described the roads as pathways to economic growth.

‎”These roads will improve mobility, enhance security and provide a better quality of life for the people of Makurdi and beyond.

‎”As we commission these roads today, I encourage the good people of Benue to continue supporting the efforts of the governor and take ownership of these public assets by ensuring their proper use,” she said.

‎NAN reports that the first lady, during her visit, will also commission the activities of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and interact with women and beneficiaries of the scheme.

‎She is also expected to perform the official inauguration and handing over of a newly-constructed Community ICT Training Centre at Ihugh.

‎Alias, in his address of welcome, said that the roads would improve accessibility, reduce travelling time and enhance connectivity between communities within the city of Makurdi.

‎Aside infrastructure, he said that his administration had also been improving the lives of the people of the state through creation of employment opportunities.

‎”During construction, we continue to stimulate economic activities for years to come,” the governor said.

‎He expressed appreciation to the president for his support to his administration and commitment to improving infrastructure across the country.
