A security guard, Ibrahim Usman was on Wednesday docked in a before Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja for alleged negligence of duty.
The police charged Ibrahim, who lives in Gwagwalada FCT with negligent conduct.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Festus Ajayi, told the court that the complainant, Mrs Naima Mohamod , who lives in Mabushi, Abuja, reported the matter at the Maitama Police station on June 16.
Ajayi informed the court that, Mohamod left one outdoor Air conditioning unit, a 12KG gas cylinder and one microwave, all worth N250,000, in the defendant’s care, with an agreement that he would produce the items when she needed them.
He said, when the complaint came for the household items, the defendant could not produce them.
The offence, the police said, contravened the provisions of sections 196 of the Penal Code Law.
Chief Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang admitted the defendant to bail in the Sum of N500,000 with one surety, Surety must be a civil servant and must provide all means of identification
Inyang adjourned the matter untill July 30for hearing.( www)nannews.ng)
