Human rights group, Take It Back Movement, has disclosed plans to stage another round of protests on Monday, June 22, 2026 against insecurity.
In a statement on Saturday, the National Coordinator of the Movement, Juwon Sanyaolu, said the protest will take place at Iwo Road, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the coordinator, the protest is a part of series of actions by the organisation to press home demands bordering on insecurity especially the abduction of scores of children and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Sanyaolu said, “It is over one month now since the abduction of 40 schoolchildren and seven teachers in Oyo State and nothing is being done by the government to ensure their release.
“Rather than for the situation to get better, insecurity has only worsen as Nigeria has recorded even more attacks by bandits since then. The vulnerable masses are the ones bearing the brunt mostly. They are the ones being brutally murdered and held captives in dangerous forests with their fate unknown.
“As a movement, we call on Nigerians to join the action to demand the release of all kidnap victims and a total end to banditry and all of forms of insecurity in Nigeria.
“It is to this end that we will be tallying Nigerians to march again until freedom is guaranteed.”
Recall that the TIB, alongside other well-meaning organisations, has been at the forefront of demonstrations to demand an end violence and insecurity in the country.
From Abuja to Lagos, Ibadan to Osun, members of the organisation have staged protests on different days including on June 12, Nigeria’s Democracy Day demanding a better welfare and security for all Nigerians.
