Panic as Another Skyscraper Gutted By Fire in Lagos Island

Another high rise building has on Thursday been gutted by fire at the popular Broad Street, Lagos Island.

The building which reportedly houses a branch of Polaris Bank was engulfed by fire.

Videos shared on X showed thick smokes emerging from the building located behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) building in Marina.

The incident sparked panic among traders and passersby as crowd gathered outside the premises.

Meanwhile, a fire fighters’ vehicle was spotted in the clip, signalling response by the Lagos Fire Service to curtail the inferno.

Ambulance service has also been reportedly deployed to the scene with traffic diverted by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

Also present at the scene were officials of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Watch who cordoned the area as rescue operation goes underway

The cause of the fire outbreak could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
