Ovia Lawmaker Aghedo Celebrates Edo Queens’ NWFLPremieship Title Triumph

The lawmaker representing Ovia South-West Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Aghedo congratulates Edo Queens Football Club for emerging champions in the recently voncluded 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

The Ovia Lawmaker in his congratulatory message,also commended the management, coaching crew and the entire team staff for their outstanding achievement, describing the victory as a product of hard work, discipline, resilience, and commitment to excellence.

Aghedo noted that Edo Queens’ triumph as champions is a testament to the strength, talent, and sporting excellence associated with Edo State, adding that the feat would inspire young athletes across the state.

The lawmaker also commended the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, for his leadership style, vision, and dedication to sports development, stressing that his efforts have contributed significantly to the success athletes in the state have recorded recently.

Aghedo also extended his heart felt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for achievement of the state owned  Edo Queens. He commended the Governor for his support and commitment to youth empowerment and sports development, describing him as a sports-loving leader whose administration has continued to encourage sporting excellence.

According to him, the victory of Edo Queens goes beyond the football club, as it represents a proud moment for the people of Edo State and an indication that with the right support and determination, excellence can be achieved even in a difficult situation.

“On behalf of the good people of Ovia South-West Constituency, I celebrate this great milestone and wish Edo Queens greater success as they continue to represent Edo State and Nigeria with pride on the national and international stage,” Aghedo stated.
