The paramount ruler and Ajana Afa of Okeagbe Akoko in Ondo State, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin, has called on residents of the community to be more security conscious and take collective responsibility for safeguarding their environment.
The monarch stressed that the security of lives and property in Afa and Okeagbe remains a shared duty, urging indigenes and residents alike to prioritise vigilance in the face of growing security concerns.
Oba Arasanyin, in a message to the community, emphasised the need for timely reporting of suspicious movements and activities capable of undermining peace and development.
He specifically urged residents to channel such information to Oyere Ogbogbomudu for prompt action.
According to him, proactive community participation is critical to preventing crime and maintaining the long-standing peace in the area.
The traditional ruler also offered prayers for divine protection, expressing confidence that criminal elements, particularly kidnappers, would not gain a foothold in the community.
“As a people, we must remain united, vigilant and committed to the peace of our land. Security is our collective responsibility,” he said.
Oba Arasanyin further congratulated sons and daughters of Afa Okeagbe at home and in the diaspora on the commencement of the new month of June, praying that it would usher in success, favour, and divine grace for all.
He also extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in the community on the occasion of the Sallah celebration, commending the peaceful conduct observed during the festivities.
The monarch prayed for sustained peace, unity and progress in Afa and Okeagbe, urging residents to embrace love, harmony and coexistence.
“This is a time to be more prayerful, united and committed to one another. Together, we can build a safer and more prosperous community,” he added.
He concluded with traditional blessings, expressing hope that divine protection would continue to guide and preserve the land and its people.
