Popular Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has revealed that she would never disclose her earnings to a romantic partner, stressing that financial privacy remains an important boundary in her relationships.
The actress made the revelation during a recent episode of the Thanks For Coming podcast, where she discussed topics ranging from marriage and personal boundaries to financial independence and privacy in relationships.
Speaking candidly about her views on modern relationships, Isime explained that she does not see any reason why couples must necessarily share details of their income with one another.
According to her, she prefers to keep information about her earnings private and expects the same level of privacy from her partner.
The actress stated that she has no interest in knowing how much money a man earns and equally sees no need for a man to know the exact amount she makes.
“Tell a man how much I earn, for what? I can never,” she said during the conversation.
She added that financial disclosure is not something she considers necessary for maintaining a healthy relationship.
“And I don’t want him to discuss his earnings with me either. I don’t want to know how much he is earning,” she explained.
Isime’s comments have sparked conversations online, particularly among fans and social media users who hold varying opinions on transparency and financial management in relationships.
While some people believe that couples should openly discuss their finances as part of building trust and planning for the future, others agree with the actress that personal financial information should remain private unless there is a compelling reason to share it.
Beyond finances, the actress also spoke about trust and personal boundaries within romantic relationships.
Interestingly, she revealed that she would not object if a partner wanted to go through her phone. However, she questioned the need for such an action and maintained that she personally would never request access to a partner’s device.
“I’ve no problem with him going through my phone but for what?” she said.
“I would never ask to check his phone.”
Her comments reflect a broader belief that trust should exist naturally within a relationship rather than being enforced through constant monitoring of a partner’s activities.
The actress further opened up about her personal ambitions and how they have shaped her outlook on life and relationships.
According to her, unlike many young women who often fantasise about weddings and marriage from an early age, she spent most of her younger years focusing on career growth, financial success, and personal independence.
She revealed that marriage was never a major aspiration for her while growing up.
“You know, when young girls sit down and daydream about getting married, I have never done that,” she stated.
Instead, Isime said her dreams revolved around becoming successful, earning money, and creating a life where she could stand on her own without depending on anyone financially.
“All I daydream about is working, making money and being independent,” she added.
Over the years, Nancy Isime has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most successful entertainers. From acting and television presenting to entrepreneurship and brand endorsements, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the country’s entertainment industry.
Her remarks on financial independence are consistent with views she has expressed in previous interviews, where she emphasised the importance of self-reliance and personal growth.
The actress has often encouraged women to pursue their goals, develop their skills, and create opportunities for themselves rather than relying solely on relationships for financial security.
