As Re-Elected Governor Seeks Collaboration with Opposition Candidates

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificate of Return to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, following his re-election at the just concluded governorship election.
NPO Reported that Oyebanji had emerged winner of the Saturday poll, securing the governorship seat with 319,224 votes.
Despite reported cases of vote buying across the state, INEC would on Tuesday present the Certification of Returns to the governor, affirming his re-election.
Oyebanji, in reaction in a statement issued on his X handle, described the certificate as a sacred contract to deep good governance and accelerate sustainable development across the state.
The governor expressed his gratitude to his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ekiti people for the peaceful conduct of the election.
“Today, alongside my Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, I officially received our Certificate of Return from INEC.
“Backed by your historic 319,224 votes, this certificate is not a political trophy. It is a sacred contract to deepen good governance and accelerate sustainable development across the Land of Honour.
“I am immensely grateful to my wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, our party leaders, and the good people of Ekiti for ensuring one of the most peaceful elections in our history.” He wrote.
While extending his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu over the amended Electoral Act, Oyebanji offered an olive branch to his fellow contenders at the poll.
He called for their support of his administration in taking the state to the next great chapter.
“Special appreciation goes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage in signing the amended Electoral Act into law, which was vital in delivering a transparent, fair, and highly professional process. This historic victory belongs to every resident of our state.
“As we return to work immediately to consolidate our achievements in welfare, infrastructure, and economic growth,
“I extend a hand of fellowship to my fellow contestants to join hands with our administration. Let us build this next great chapter together.” Oyebanji said.
