‘Cultural icon’— Adeleke mourns veteran actor Kola Oyewo

Governor Adeleke recalled the unique acting style of the late thespian, which captivated homes and entertained movie lovers, saying Dr. Oyewo made a great mark in the movie history and his demise is a loss of one of the state’s talents in the creative industry. 

The governor commiserated with his family and the movie industry as a whole, urging everyone impacted by the loss to take consolation in the fact that the Obaa-Ile born actor led a life full of many accomplishments.

“Dr. Kola Oyewo was a delight to watch in movies, combining great acting and exceptional storytelling skills to entertain movie lovers. Beyond acting, Dr. Oyewo shaped futures from the classrooms, guiding young people to excellence through exceptional tutorship,” Governor Adeleke noted in a condolence message on Sunday.

“With him gone, the memory of the sensation he radiates to homes from the screen, and even more, the lives he helped shape for the better are worthy consolations. I mourn his passing knowing well the great talent is gone. 

“On that note, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the movie industry, the academia and everyone touched by this painful loss. It is my sincere prayer that they get the strength to bear the hard moment that the passing of Dr. Oyewo represents. May God grant his soul eternal rest.”
