The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has joined the rest in celebrating the June 12 Democracy Day, with the Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, extending warm felicitations to all Nigerians on behalf of officers and men of the Service.

In a goodwill message to mark the occasion, the Comptroller-General celebrated what he described as the enduring spirit of Nigeria’s democracy and the resilience that continues to bind the nation together as one people.

Adeniyi called on Nigerians to use the occasion as a moment of sober reflection on the country’s shared journey, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their commitment to peace, integrity, and collective responsibility.

“Let us remain committed to peace, integrity, and the collective responsibility of building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

The CGC’s message echoes the significance of June 12, a date that stands as a symbol of the Nigerian people’s democratic will and sacrifice.

Democracy Day, marked annually on June 12, commemorates the historic 1993 presidential election widely considered the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s history
