2027: Abia PDP guber candidate, Anosike pledges welfarist, people centred govt
Abia State Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Kelechi Anosike has pledged to run welfarist government if elected as successor to incumbent Governor Alex Otti.
Anosike made this assertion during an interactive session with some members of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP in Abuja on Thursday.
He said facts on ground indicate that the cost of living is very high in Nigeria and the increase in FAAC allocations to states after removal of subsidy has not solved the people’s hardship yet.The common man is still bearing the brunt of the burden.
In Abia, secugically he said, there is zero welfare packaage. The candidate said in Abia there is zero welfare package, Anosike said.
While admitting that the incumbent has put in place infrastructures, Nosike said his government will not be measured by infrastructure alone.
He pledged that his government will be guided by the People First, Abia Always principle.He will run a government where Abia people will not sleep on empty stomachs, Anosike pledged.
The PDP candidate therefore unveiled his 7 key welfare policies that will guide his government.They include economic welfare policy, healthcare welfare, education welfare and youth wellbeing and empowerment and agricultural welfare among others.He assured that infrastructural development will not be abandoned
One of the exciting programmes he has in the pipeline is the plan to create a skills development agency to ensure an organised informal sector.
