A tensed moment has been recorded at a polling unit in the ongoing 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election as a group of voters confronted and chased away two officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from their polling unit.
The incident reportedly occurred at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, in Iyin-Ekiti during the voting exercise on Saturday.
As captured in a video shared on X, the visibly angry voters escorted the EFCC officials out of the polling unit.
One of the voters shoved the officials as they leave the poll after what appeared to have been caused by an altercation between the EFCC personnel and the locals.
However, the actual cause of the incident remains unknown as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the EFCC had deployed the officials and several others across the state to tackle the menace of vote buying which had widely been reported in several polling units.
