Nigerian actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has reacted to the recent wave of killings and abductions in Oyo State, describing the situation as painful and disturbing.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the actress shared her thoughts in a post on Instagram where she spoke about the growing insecurity in parts of the country, especially in Oyo State.

According to her, the attacks have left many families in pain, while children and residents now live in fear.

Toyin said the tragedy touched her deeply because of her close connection to Oyo State through family ties, culture and the love she has for the people. She lamented the loss of innocent lives and the suffering many families are currently facing after the attacks.

She also spoke about the recent incident in Oriire Local Government Area and other affected communities, saying many parents are now heartbroken after their children were abducted. The actress stated that Nigerians should not be forced to live in fear or wake up daily to reports of violence and killings.

The movie star praised security agencies and the Oyo State Government for their efforts so far, but she also called for quicker actions to rescue those still being held by kidnappers. She further questioned the steps being taken to stop similar attacks from happening again in the state.

Toyin added that the country needs unity, compassion and support for victims during this difficult period. She said violence should never become normal in society and urged Nigerians to continue speaking against insecurity while praying for peace across the nation.

She also prayed for families who lost loved ones and asked God to comfort those mourning and protect innocent citizens.
