The Southwest Zonal Coordinator of the OK Movement, Adefolaseye Adebayo, has criticised the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, over his comment against former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Onanuga, in a post via 𝕏, insinuated Peter Obi lacks confidence to contest primary elections, unlike presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osifo Stanley Osayamen, who contested the party’s ticket against Tinubu.
He said, ‘I completely agree. Osifo Stanley Osayamen possesses the courage that certain aspiring presidents, such as Peter Obi, lack”
Reacting to the post, Adefolaseye said that Onanuga’s primary assignment is attacking Peter Obi rather than projecting Nigeria positively to the United States and the international community by reassuring them that the country’s elections will be transparent and credible.
She wrote, “it is a shame that, as a media and communication representative of this government, instead of projecting Nigeria positively to the United States and the international community by reassuring them that our elections will be transparent and credible, your government chose from day one to relentlessly pursue and attack a Nigerian who continues to contribute immensely to improving the lives of ordinary people.
“We know Peter Obi is your major assignment. Your job description appears to be simply: “Attack Peter Obi.”
“Remember, just as Nigerians remember Lai Mohammed largely for propaganda and misinformation, people are remembered for what they consistently represent.
“When you eventually leave office because government positions are temporary, have you ever paused to think about what history will remember you for in old age?
“I already know the answer, because you are carrying out that assignment passionately and diligently”.
