KASHIM Musa Tumsah, alias KMT, the Yobe All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, has denied rumours that he has withdrawn from the contest.

This is contained in a statement signed by Abubakar Ahmed, Spokesman, KMT Campaign Organisation in Damaturu on Sunday.

He said that the rumour was “callous” and “mischievous”, peddled by those who did not mean the state well.

“It should be clearly understood that the rumour emanating from whichever source is baseless, callous and a wild impossible imagination of those spreading it.

“This is another plot by those who fear that Kashim Musa Tumsah MFR will win the 2027 governorship election in Yobe State by the special grace of God and genuine support of Yobe State citizens.

“KMT remains strong in his aspiration and fully prepared to participate in coming Thursday’s (21st May, 2026) All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in the state with the full backing of all his supporters,” Ahmed said.

The spokesman called on all APC members and citizens in the state to disregard the rumour and consider it as fake news.

“Any contrary information from any source other than the KMT Campaign Organisation should be considered as fake henceforth please,” he said.(NAN)
