Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI have rescued an abducted eight-year-old boy and recovered several explosive devices during separate operations across the North-East.
The military disclosed this in a statement on Friday by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.
According to the statement, troops conducting operations along the Ngoshe–Amuda corridor rescued the boy, identified as Abubakar Mublagha, who was abducted during the March 3, 2026 attack on Ngoshe community.
The victim was later medically examined and reunited with his family.
Troops also rescued a 20-year-old abducted Fulani man, Dahiru Ahamdu, during operations around Uvaha village along the Gwoza–Limankara axis.
The victim reportedly escaped after intense artillery bombardments by troops struck terrorist camps in the Mandara Mountains.
“He disclosed that he was abducted on May 8, 2026 while grazing cattle at Bororo village in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State,” the statement read.
The military said troops supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force also carried out coordinated offensives in Valle, Ashigashiya and Gakara areas where two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralised.
Another insurgent was killed during an encounter along the Bravo Kilo 10 axis.
Recovered items included a radio set and a mobile phone.
In a separate operation at Buni Gari, troops acting on intelligence recovered four 40mm RPG bombs, one 81mm mortar bomb and four 60mm mortar bombs abandoned by fleeing terrorists.
The explosives were later secured by Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams.
The military also confirmed the arrest of a suspected terrorist collaborator identified as Kuti Muhammad, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force.
Three armed robbery suspects — Aliyu Mamadu, Umar Mohammed and Adamu Aliyu — were equally arrested in Garin Gwigwi village in Biu Local Government Area.
Recovered exhibits included mobile phones, cash, charms, suspected illicit substances and a locally made firearm.
The statement added that four suspected cattle rustlers were arrested at Kwaya Kusar Market with six rustled cattle.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations aimed at defeating terrorism and restoring peace across the North-East.
