Iran-US War: US President Donald Trump has issued repeated warnings to Iran over the past few days despite the two countries agreeing to a ceasefire on April 8. The American President on Wednesday hinted at a possible deal to end the war, but also spoke about renewed strikes on Iran.
Giving conflicting signals, Trump on Thursday said, “It’s right on the borderline, believe me,” when asked about the status of talks with Iran. “It’s right on the borderline, believe me,” he told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, near Washington. Trump further mentioned that the deal can be finalised “very quickly” or “in a few days,” and for that to happen, Iran will have to give “100% good answers.

Trump, who had earlier said that the negotiations are in “final stages”, also warned that the time for diplomacy could run out soon.
“If we don’t get the right answers, it goes very quickly. We’re all ready to go. We have to get the right answers — it would have to be a complete 100% good answer, and if we do, we save a lot of time, energy, and lives,” the US President added.
‘Had no choice’: Trump on Iran war
On the Iran war, Trump told reporters that he had no choice as Iran was advancing to make nuclear weapons, noting that this mission would end soon, “one way or the other”.
“I had no choice because they were going to have a nuclear weapon, but that’s going to end soon, one way or the other. Oil is going to come tumbling down. We have 1600 ships in the Strait that are loaded up with oil that are going to be coming out very soon,” Trump said. “We have to open the Strait of Hormuz. We are going to give it one shot. We are not in a hurry,” he added.
