Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker Laide Olabanji has spoken against the administration of Bola Tinubu over the growing insecurity in the country.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the actor reacted to the recent wave of killings in different parts of Nigeria.

He expressed anger over the murder of a teacher in Oyo State who was beheaded, as well as the continuous attacks linked to bandits in Plateau State.

Olabanji said the government has failed in its duty to protect the lives and property of citizens. According to him, many Nigerians now live in fear as killings and kidnappings continue across the country.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor spoke emotionally in pidgin English while accusing the government of paying little attention to the suffering of the people.

He said innocent citizens are losing their lives daily while many families continue to mourn loved ones killed in violent attacks.

The filmmaker also questioned the response of the government to the worsening security situation.

He complained that Nigerians are battling hunger, poor roads, unstable electricity supply and expensive fuel, yet insecurity has continued to spread in several states.

He said: “On your mandate we dey cry, on your mandate them dey cry, on your mandate, on your mandate. On your mandate people dey die.

“Nigerians are being killed every minute. And you are not afraid of God who created heaven and earth. You’ve turned the citizens’ lives to kite, they are being killed every day, and you are not responsive.

“If you can’t give Nigerians good electricity, better roads, if you can’t remove hunger in the country, if you can’t bring down fuel price, kindly give Nigerians good security.

“Nigeria is bleeding, Nigerians are dying in the hands of bandits and kidnapers. Let the killings stop in the country.”
