Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has spoken on a painful part of her past, revealing that she lost access to her children when they were still very young after she married into a wealthy family.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that she made the revelation during a public appearance, where she shared details about her life journey and how personal challenges shaped her career path.
According to her, the separation from her children affected her deeply and changed the direction of her life.
She explained that acting was not her original plan. She said she entered the movie industry mainly because she wanted to build a life that her children could later trace back to her.
At the time, she felt life had taken a difficult turn, and she was unsure of what her future would look like.
The actress also spoke about how she once struggled with feelings of hopelessness after the separation, believing that she might not achieve much in life.
However, she noted that her story eventually changed as she built a successful career in Nollywood and became a well-known figure.
She said, “I wear so many caps. And to the glory of God, my scar to shine is so funny. I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, and if I have said it, I don’t think I’ve ever said it enough.
“I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to at least, I never thought of being a star, at least know where to find me. I am one woman who had children taken from her when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family. And I could not think I would become anything in this life. And here I am today.”
