GOV. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of workers in the state, urging more dedication to service for the development of Plateau.
Mutfwang made this known during a statewide broadcast on friday in Jos, in commemoration of the 2026 Workers Day anniversary.
“I am deeply honoured to join the hardworking men and women of Plateau State today as we commemorate the 2026 May Day celebration.
“This occasion is not only a celebration of labour, but also a moment to reflect on the dignity of work, the resilience of our workforce, and the shared responsibility we bear in building a stronger, more prosperous Plateau State.
“As we celebrate today, I urge all workers to continue to demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and integrity in the discharge of your duties.
“We have taken bold and strategic steps to address the scourge of poverty and secure the economic future of our state.
“The success of these reforms depends not only on government policies but also on your dedication to service,” he said.
The governor assured the workers that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare, invest in capacity building, and create an enabling environment for alll to thrive.
“Together, we will build a public service that is not only responsive but also globally competitive. I therefore reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers and the sustainable development of Plateau State.
“Let us continue to work hand in hand in the spirit of unity, progress, and shared prosperity,” Mutfwang said. NAN
