KWARA Government has approved 30 per cent peculiar allowance for workers in agencies, parastatals, and media houses yet to benefit from it.

The acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Shittu, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Press Secretary, Mr Okanlawon Solomon, in Ilorin on Monday.

The statement said that some workers in the mainstream civil service had been granted earlier.

According to the statement, the approval forms part of the administration’s continued commitment to workers’ welfare, equity and inclusiveness across the state public service.

It said the implementation of the allowance would take effect from June 1.

According to the statement, the gesture further demonstrates Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to improving the well-being and morale of workers in the state.

It commended the governor for his consistent support for the workforce and for sustaining policies that promote fairness and productivity within the civil service.

The statement also urged workers in the affected establishments to remain committed, diligent and supportive of government policies and programmes aimed at advancing the state.

It also disclosed that salaries for May had been paid ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to enable workers to celebrate the festive season comfortably with their families.

Shittu, via the statement, felicitated workers and Muslim faithful in the state on the Sallah celebration and prayed for the state’s continued peace, progress and prosperity. (NAN)
