‘Kwankwaso Has Never Delivered Kano To Any Presidential Candidate’ – Buhari Ex-Aide

Rabiu Kwankwaso

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has claimed that the former leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has never successfully delivered Kano State to any presidential candidate.

Ahmad, who served as an aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, made this claim days after Kwankwaso alleged that he and his supporters got no reward for supporting Buhari’s victory in the 2015 presidential election.

Kwankwaso had said his political structure delivered nearly two million votes for Buhari in 2015 but received no recognition from the administration.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Monday, the former Kano State governor said, “I worked so hard. We brought about 1.9 million, almost 2 million votes. But as politicians, we are not recognised. We put our lives on the line at that time.

“But unfortunately, we could not see any benefit either as individuals or the constituencies that we represented.”

Reacting in a post on 𝕏, Ahmad dismissed Kwankwaso’s claim, insisting that history did not support the assertion.

“Let me remind the concerned individuals of this stubborn political fact, history clearly shows that Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has never successfully delivered Kano State to any presidential candidate,” he wrote.

Ahmad also weighed in on ongoing political discussions involving the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

“Politically, I am not for Peter Obi or Rabiu Kwankwaso, but let’s be honest, does the PRP today have candidates more popular or politically relevant than these two individuals?” he added.
