Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to a hospital in Jerusalem on Monday evening, according to a statement from his office. The statement came after local media reported that he had been admitted to hospital.
Reports said Netanyahu was receiving dental treatment at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, according to The Times of Israel.
Ongoing Questions About His Health
The 76-year-old leader’s health has been closely watched in recent years after several medical incidents. Critics have accused his office of not sharing enough information with the public.
These incidents have also led to speculation in Israel about his overall health.
Previous Medical Treatments
Last month, Netanyahu said in a long social media post that he had recently completed successful radiation treatment for a cancerous tumour in his prostate at Hadassah hospital. He said he had delayed telling the public because he believed Iran could have used the information to spread propaganda against Israel during the war at the time.
However, he did not say when he was diagnosed, when treatment began, or when it ended.
Netanyahu has faced several health issues in recent years. He had a pacemaker fitted in July 2023, underwent hernia surgery in March 2024, and had prostate removal surgery in December 2024.
