Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez, has declared himself a mysterious person.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Blaqbonez made this known in a post on his 𝕏 handle, while revealing his reason for rejecting an offer to join Mavin Records despite being offered $1 million.
Speaking on the reason for declining the offer, Blaqbonez said he does not enjoy being highly active on social media or constantly engaging fans online, which he claimed may not align with the demands of a major record label.
He wrote, “I need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious.”
Meanwhile, Blaqbonez has opened up about his views on Nigeria’s political system, revealing that he has never taken part in any election in the country.
The music star made the revelation during a recent appearance on the Off The Record podcast, where he spoke about his disappointment with the state of the nation and why he no longer believes things will improve easily.
According to the rapper, years of waiting for positive change without seeing results made him lose hope in the country’s direction.
He explained that many expectations he once had for Nigeria never became reality, leading him to mentally detach himself from the system.
Blaqbonez also shared his belief that the country’s leadership problems are connected to the behaviour and mindset of the people.
He said he does not see much difference between political parties and feels the same problems continue no matter who is in power.
