Nollywood actor and filmmaker Daniel Etim-Effiong has stirred reactions on social media after sharing his opinion on how married couples should handle cheating in relationships.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the actor spoke during an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, where he discussed infidelity and the way partners should respond when such situations happen in marriage.
According to him, a cheating partner should not only be met with anger or condemnation.
He said the issue should first be approached with concern and a willingness to understand what may have led to the action.
Daniel explained that when a partner cheats, it could mean the person is struggling with certain problems, and the marriage may only begin to heal when both sides are ready to address the situation calmly.
He said, “The first approach to your partner cheating in a marriage should come from a place of ‘how can I help you?’”
The actor added, “If they cheat on you, they are in a problem, so you should ask yourself how you can help them get out of that problem, and then we can start healing.”
Daniel Etim-Effiong is known for starring in movies and television series such as Plan B, Blood Sisters, Castle and Castle and The Men’s Club.
Before joining the movie industry, he studied Chemical Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna.
The actor is married to media personality Toyosi Etim-Effiong, and the couple have three children.
