Human Rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has tackled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over comments he allegedly made about her failed bid to secure the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial ticket in the FCT.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Wike had, during an event in Rivers State on Saturday, reportedly mocked Yesufu for losing the NDC ticket.
The minister said real politics went beyond media appearances, adding that the activist-turned-politician could not win in “ordinary NDC.”
Reacting in a post on her 𝕏 handle, Yesufu dared Wike to mention her name directly.
“If dem born Wike well, make e call my name with his full chest! What Tambuwal did to him in 2022 will be child’s play,” she wrote.
Yesufu also mocked Wike over the 2022 Peoples Democratic Party presidential primary, which he lost.
She alleged that the FCT minister later lobbied to become running mate but was not chosen.
According to her, Wike “could not win primaries in 2022,” adding that he “even lobbied for running mate and still was not chosen.”
She further accused him of working against the PDP after the primary.
The activist said Wike had no moral standing to mock her political experience. She added that she was waiting for him to mention her name directly before responding further.
“Let me wait make the man get liver mention name! Then the man doing boi boi because he has to be in power to have authority will know those of us from Kukuruku empire of Edo State in South South no dey grovel,” she added.
