Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has addressed speculations about his relationship with his first daughter, Danielle.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Danielle had removed her father’s name from her social media handles, which had led to speculations that the youngster had a rocky relationship with her father.
The actor had previously faced criticism online after social media users accused him of ignoring Danielle’s graduation while sharing posts about his children with his second wife, Judy Austin.
However, speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the actor said he has a close relationship with his first daughter, who is 21.
He explained that he does not expect her to fully understand him at her age, noting that he also struggled to understand his own father when he was younger.
He added that it is natural for children to feel more connected to their mother’s side, describing the situation as normal.
In his words, “We are very close. She is just 21, I don’t expect her to understand me. When I was 21, I didn’t understand my father. There will be a tilt towards her mother; it is a normal thing.”
The interview sparked strong reactions online, with many fans criticising the actor. Some said his daughter may still be struggling with the fallout from his relationship with her mother.
