The Osun State Police Command has given residents assurances that comprehensive security arrangements are in place for the upcoming 2026 Eid-El-Kabir celebrations across the state.

This was communicated in a statement released on Tuesday in Osogbo by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ojelabi Abiodun, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, who said all necessary steps had been taken to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free festive period.

Gotan disclosed that officers and operational resources have been deployed to key locations throughout the state to protect lives and property during the celebrations.

Security personnel, he noted, have been positioned at entry and exit points, major roads, places of worship, recreational facilities, parks, and other critical public infrastructure.

According to him, the deployment is designed to boost public confidence and deter criminal activity before, during, and after the Eid festivities.

He called on residents to conduct themselves lawfully and peacefully throughout the Sallah period, urging them to go about their celebrations without causing any disturbance.

He also appealed to members of the public to cooperate with deployed officers, adding that personnel have been instructed to remain professional, courteous, and respectful of citizens’ rights at all times.

The command further advised residents to promptly report any suspicious activity or emergency situations either through available police emergency lines or by visiting the nearest police station.
