NIGERIA Fintech, Moniepoint says it will showcase the next generation of its African software engineering talent on May 26 in Lagos, as the second cohort of its DreamDevs Bootcamp concludes.
The Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder, Mr Felix Ike, who made this known in a statement on Monday, said the bootcamp would end with a Demo Day.
The event, which has the theme, “Training Done! Demo Up!”, will feature innovative capstone projects developed by participants after nine weeks of intensive, industry-focused engineering training.
The fintech company said the initiative formed part of its commitment to build world-class engineering talent in Nigeria and across Africa.
Speaking on the initiative, Ike said the programme was designed to produce engineers capable of solving real world problems at global standards.
“Engineering excellence is a curated and intentionally built process that requires the right systems, resources and time.
“The DreamDevs Bootcamp goes beyond teaching syntax or frameworks.
“We are developing engineers who can think critically, solve complex problems, and build scalable products at the highest level,” he said.
The co-founder noted that some graduates from the first cohort had already joined Moniepoint’s engineering team, describing the programme as a strong pipeline for tech talent development.
He expressed confidence that the second cohort would showcase innovative solutions during the Demo Day event.
Moniepoint said the initiative reflected its broader investment in Nigeria’s digital economy, and efforts to strengthen local engineering capacity for global competitiveness.
According to Moniepoint, participants underwent rigorous training in Java OOP Foundations, Data Structures and Algorithms.
The statement said that participants also underwent testing, MySQL and JDBC, Spring Boot APIs and System Design, Docker and Messaging Queues, Frontend UI, Cloud Infrastructure, and other practical software engineering concepts.
The company added that participants were paid monthly stipends throughout the programme to support full-time learning and development.
Moniepoint stated that admission into the bootcamp was highly competitive, with candidates progressing through multiple assessment stages, including a HackerRank technical test and an in-person coding challenge. (NAN)
