The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded its ongoing party primaries across the country, claiming no other political party in the nation can replicate its level of transparency and organisation.
The party made the assertion recently when its National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, appeared as a guest on Arise News.
This claim comes despite the considerable internal strife generated by the APC primary elections and controversies surrounding issues such as candidate imposition, allegations of electoral misconduct, violence, and the exclusion of stakeholders.
Apart from this, several dissatisfied aspirants have voiced concerns that the process lacks transparency and excludes popular candidates.

However, during his interview, Basiru rated the exercise very highly so far and maintained that no political party in the country can surpass the ruling party’s performance.
He said: “Based on the reports received from both the House of Representatives and the Senate, I would assess our party very favourably in terms of organisation and the overall results of the exercise.
“The APC has implemented the direct primary option as stipulated in the Electoral Act, and this process has showcased the party’s dedication to transparency and internal democracy.
“I can assert with confidence that by May 29 or 30, it will be rare to find any other political party exhibiting this degree of coordination, openness, and participation as the APC has done.”
Also discussing the party primaries on the programme, the APC’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr Ben Nwoye, advised losing aspirants to either accept the results of the primary elections or pursue an appeal.
