The family of late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, has announced funeral arrangements for the deceased actor, describing him as a man whose life was defined by love, generosity and devotion to God.

The announcement was contained in a statement by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo Okwaraeke on behalf of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family.

According to the family, the late actor would be honoured through a series of funeral activities beginning with a service of songs scheduled for June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos.

The statement noted that the family had been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support received since the actor’s passing.

“The overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, support, and strength shown to the family during this painful period has been truly humbling,” the statement read.

It added, “Alexx was deeply loved, and your kindness continues to remind us that his light, compassion, faith, and impact on so many lives will never be forgotten.”

The family described the late actor as a warm and cheerful personality whose presence touched many lives.

“Though his passing came far too soon, Alexx lived a life marked by love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished,” the statement added.

The wake keep is scheduled to hold on June 17 at the family compound in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, while the funeral service and interment will take place on June 18 in Arochukwu.

A reception will follow immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, with guests expected to appear in white attire.

The family called on friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to continue praying for the late actor’s wife and family during the mourning period.
