The Ebonyi State Ministry of Education has suspended two head teachers indefinitely over a video showing deplorable state of their students’ classroom.
Sequel to the viral circulation of the video showing the students sitting on bare floor in an uncompleted classroom block, the Ebonyi State issued a suspension letter to the teachers.
As contained in the letter dated May 18,2026 and signed by the Education Secretary of Ezza-North Local Government Area, Francis Nwonunku, the teachers were accused of gross misconduct denial of pupils’ right to quality education, and sabotage of the state government’s educational efforts.
The letter directed the affected head teachers to immediately hand over all government property in their possession to the next most senior officer.
“You are hereby suspended indefinitely as the head teacher of the above school due to your gross misconduct for denying the school pupils their right to quality education and also sabotaging the effort of our education-loving governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru.
