An aspirant in the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary election for the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Okoriko Abah, has rejected the outcome of the exercise, insisting that no valid primary election was conducted across the constituency.

Abah made his position known in a statement issued on Sunday morning to his supporters and members of the Enone Dream Team 2027.

According to him, what took place during the APC primary election on Saturday could not be described as a democratic process, alleging that electoral materials were never distributed to wards, local government areas, or the constituency collation centre in Okpoga.

“What transpired during the House of Representatives primary election yesterday was not a true reflection of democratic practice. Sadly, there was no real primary election conducted anywhere across the constituency,” he said.

“Electoral materials were not taken to the wards, Local Government Areas and Constituency Headquarters at Okpoga for party members to exercise their constitutional rights. What took place was merely the selection of a preferred candidate rather than a transparent and credible primary election.”

The APC aspirant said he understood the anger and disappointment among his supporters, noting that many party members invested time, energy, and resources believing the process would be free and fair.

Despite his grievances, Abah appealed to his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, warning against actions capable of undermining the peace and unity of the constituency.

He maintained that his political movement stands for fairness, justice, inclusion, and credible leadership.

Abah also expressed appreciation to youths, women, elders, stakeholders, ward coordinators, and support groups for standing by him throughout the process.

He further assured supporters that the struggle for credible leadership in the constituency would continue, stressing that political manipulation cannot permanently silence the will of the people.

The APC primary election in the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency was earlier marred by protests, allegations of irregularities, and claims of attempts to impose a preferred candidate.
