APC Primaries: Abiodun, Ogun Stakeholders Affirm Yayi as Consensus Candidate

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has alongside other stakeholders and members of the Ogun All Progressives Congress (APC) affirmed Sen. Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi, as party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Governorship Election.

Abiodun joined other party faithfuls at his ward on Thursday for the affirmation of Adeola as the APC’s candidate.

The governor in a statement issued on his official X handle declared the conduct of the primary election peaceful and transparent.

He described the election as a true reflection of the unity and internal democratic strength of the APC.

“Today, we participated in the APC governorship direct primary election across Ogun State where Senator Adeola Yayi was overwhelmingly affirmed as the governorship candidate of our great party for the 2027 general election.

“The exercise was peaceful, transparent, orderly, and a true reflection of the unity and internal democratic strength of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State.” Abiodun said.

While appreciating the party’s leadership and members for their support, Abiodun congratulated Adeola over his victory.

“We sincerely appreciate our party members, leaders, stakeholders, electoral officials, and security agencies for their commitment to ensuring a successful process across the state.

“We warmly congratulate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on his emergence and reaffirm our collective commitment to the continued progress, stability, and development of Ogun State under the banner of our great party.” He said.
