A House of Representatives aspirant for Kosofe Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluremi Oluwalogbon-Odunsi, has rejected the results being circulated from the party’s primary election held on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Oluwalogbon-Odunsi insisted that no valid election took place in the constituency.
In a statement issued after the exercise, she alleged that the figures being circulated did not emerge from any recognised voting process.
She also claimed that Mayor Adele Osinowo and the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, Khafilat Ogbara, separately declared themselves winners of the primary.
“I reject the purported results being circulated and announced in respect of the primary election held yesterday,” she stated.
Oluwalogbon-Odunsi said her rejection was based on the fact that no voting exercise was conducted in Kosofe Federal Constituency on the scheduled date.
She argued that circulating figures without an actual election undermined the credibility of the process and violated the APC’s internal democratic guidelines.
“Accordingly, I do not recognise or accept the purported outcome being circulated, acknowledging the results would amount to endorsing a process that did not follow due process,” she said.
The aspirant called on APC leaders and stakeholders to urgently intervene to protect the integrity of the primary process.
She said a formal petition and appeal detailing her concerns had been submitted to the appropriate party authorities.
Oluwalogbon-Odunsi urged APC officials at the state and national levels to investigate the alleged declaration of results, adding that only a transparent review would restore confidence among aspirants and party members.
She reaffirmed her loyalty to the APC, saying her position was aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the general elections.
